A poem... What Must I Think of You by Van Allen What must I think of you as a human being to put my knee on your neck and murder you? What must I think of you to violate my training to serve and protect? What must I think of you and your community to keep my knee on your neck for nine minutes until you die and do that right in front of your community, recorded on cell phones whilst they beg me to stop, whilst other officers I serve with tell me to stop, whilst you die under my knee? What must I think of you and your community? What must I think of myself? What must I think of my own humanity? What must I think of this world and the entire community we live in to do what I am guilty of? What must I think of you all to not plead guilty? What must I think of you all? What must I think of you?
